What we do with your personal information, how we keep it secure, and the rights you have over the data we hold about you.

We understand that privacy and the security of your personal information are extremely important. This policy sets out what we do with your information and what we do to keep it secure.

It also explains where and how we collect your personal information, your rights over any personal information we hold about you, and how the law protects you.

This privacy notice applies to this website and other interactions you may have with us — for example, when you create an account, purchase or sign up for a product or service, subscribe to our newsletter or updates, open a support ticket, or contact us by email, phone or social media. If you do not agree with these terms, do not access this website.

If you have any questions about our privacy practices, please use the contact form on this website, or email contact@design-dimension.com to get the contact details of the website instructors and administrator(s).

We may use Customer, User, Technical and Marketing Data to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you (including Facebook adverts or other display advertisements) and to measure or understand the effectiveness of the advertising we serve you.

02How we collect your information

We may collect data when you provide it directly to us — for example, by filling in forms on our site or sending us emails. We may also collect certain data automatically as you use our website, using cookies and similar technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy for more details.

We may receive data from third parties, such as analytics providers (e.g. Google, based outside India), advertising networks (e.g. Facebook, based outside India), search information providers (e.g. Google, based outside India), providers of technical, payment and delivery services (e.g. Instamojo and PayPal), and data brokers or aggregators. We may also receive data from publicly available sources.

Third-party integrations

We may receive personal data about you from various third parties and public sources, as set out below. When a Third Party Service is enabled, we are authorised to connect to and access Other Information made available to us in accordance with our agreement with the Third Party Provider. We do not, however, receive or store passwords for any of these Third Party Services when connecting them to the Services. Third-party integrations may include:

Zapier Mailchimp Google Facebook Segment

03Sensitive data

We do not collect any Sensitive Data about you. Sensitive data includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, health, and genetic and biometric data. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Where we are required to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of the contract between us, and you do not provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract (for example, to deliver goods or services to you). If you don’t provide the requested data, we may have to cancel a product or service you have ordered, but if we do, we will notify you at the time.

04How we use your personal data

We will only use your personal data when legally permitted. The most common uses are:

  • Where we need to perform the contract between us.
  • Where we need to process data in accordance with the Customer’s instructions.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal ground for processing your personal data, other than for sending marketing communications to you by email or text message. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us through the contact form on this website or using the privacy settings in your profile.

05Purpose and lawful basis for processing

Below is a description of the ways we intend to use your personal data and the legal grounds on which we process it, including our legitimate interests where relevant. We may process your personal data on more than one lawful ground, depending on the specific purpose.

Communication data

To communicate with you, for record keeping, and for the establishment, pursuit or defence of legal claims.

Lawful ground: legitimate interests — replying to communications, keeping records and establishing, pursuing or defending legal claims.

Customer data

To supply the goods and/or services you have purchased and to keep records of those transactions.

Lawful ground: performance of a contract between you and us, and/or taking steps at your request to enter into such a contract.

User data

To operate our website and provide relevant content, ensure the security of our website, maintain back-ups of our website and/or databases, and enable publication and administration of our website, other online services and business.

Lawful ground: legitimate interests — properly administering our website and business.

Technical data

To analyse your use of our website and online services, administer and protect our business and website, deliver relevant content and advertisements, and understand the effectiveness of our advertising.

Lawful ground: legitimate interests — administering our website and business, growing our business and deciding our marketing strategy.

Marketing data

To let you take part in promotions such as competitions, prize draws and free giveaways, deliver relevant content and advertisements, and measure the effectiveness of this advertising.

Lawful ground: legitimate interests — studying how customers use our products/services, developing them, growing our business and deciding our marketing strategy.

We may use Customer, User, Technical and Marketing Data to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you (including Facebook adverts or other display advertisements) and to measure the effectiveness of that advertising. Our lawful ground for this is legitimate interests, namely to grow our business. We may also use such data to send you other marketing communications, on the ground of either consent or legitimate interests (namely to grow our business).

06Marketing communications

Our lawful ground for processing your personal data to send you marketing communications is either your consent or our legitimate interests (namely to grow our business).

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we may send you marketing communications if you made a purchase or asked us for information about our goods or services, or if you agreed to receive marketing communications — and in each case you have not since opted out. Under these regulations, if you are a limited company, we may send you marketing emails without your consent; however, you can still opt out at any time.

Before we share your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes, we will get your express consent.

Opting out: you can ask us or third parties to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by logging in and adjusting your marketing preferences, following the opt-out link in any marketing message, or contacting us through the contact form. Opting out does not apply to personal data provided as a result of other transactions, such as purchases or warranty registrations.

We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We only allow them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

08International transfers

We share your personal data within our group of companies, which involves transferring your data outside India. Many of our third-party service providers are also based outside India, so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside India.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of India, we do our best to ensure a similar degree of security by implementing appropriate safeguards. 09Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to your personal data to employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

10Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

To decide the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it and whether those can be achieved by other means, and applicable legal requirements.

For tax purposes, the law requires us to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for a few years after they stop being customers.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to:

Request access to your data
Request correction of your data
Request erasure of your data
Object to processing
Request restriction of processing
Request transfer of your data
Withdraw consent

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please reach us through the contact form on this website.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive, or we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

We may need to request specific information from you to confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or exercise any of your other rights). This security measure ensures personal data is not disclosed to anyone who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you for further information to speed up our response.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days. Occasionally it may take longer if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
